Ailsa writes contemporary folk music characterised by simple production, heartfelt lyrics and beautiful harmonies. Ailsa also writes lyrics and provides vocals for EDM. She has three commercial singles released on record labels Neuroscience (UK), Macarize (Sweden) and Grammermusic (Netherlands).

Ailsa is the daughter of an English teacher and a Piano teacher. Growing up, she learned to play the saxophone, piano and then guitar. She was always happiest singing.

When not making music, Ailsa works in Health Development and is mum to two boys.

In 2012, Ailsa provided the soundtrack to wildlife photography DVD “Caledonia – Scotland’s Heart of Pine” by Peter Cairns.

Together with Malina MacDonald and Michael John McGelligott, Ailsa was one third of acoustic trio “The Cask”. Ailsa has performed solo, and as as part of her band, at festivals and events, big and small, including Celtic Connections and Belladrum Festival.

In 2019, Ailsa combined her knowledge of health improvement with her skills in music and singing to launch her initiative “Singalicious”.
